The Tokyo Girls Collection (東京ガールズコレクション, Tokyo Girls Collection?), sometimes abbreviated as TGC, is a semiannual fashion festival launched in 2005. The fashion event showcases the seasons fashionable streetwear by domestic brands, and are modeled by popular models from various Japanese fashion magazines. The event is open not only to buyers and journalists, but also to the general public.[1] and incorporates live concerts by well-known artists, as well as charity auctions.[2] The event, held by girlswalker.com, a popular mobile web portal, is also broadcasted live on cell phones and the internet, and the products donned by the models are made available for purchase on the spot.[3]

“Talent” Jun Komori, 25, this week launched a new omelet with a filling of ketchup-seasoned fried rice for 7-Eleven stores. However, the media were more interested in her married lifestyle than the omelet.

Komori married Ryo Imai, the 26-year-old owner of a clothing company in July. In September, they held a lavish ceremony in Chinzanso in Mejiro, attended by 600 guests.

Komori said that she “got” her husband with her cooking skills and that she makes a boxed lunch and cooks dinner for him most days.

As for starting a family, Komori said she and her husband enjoy spending time together now, but added that she would like to have a baby next year.

AKB48 singer Atsuko Maeda, 20, shows a few karate moves in the new TV commercial for fashion brand “g.u.” In the commercial, which airs from Monday, Maeda—wearing the brand’s winter line—karate chops snowflakes and says “I, Atsuko Maeda, am going to warm the Japanese winter.”

Speaking to reporters at an event to launch the ad campaign, Maeda said: “When I become 20 years old, I would like to be g.u. (a pun on the Japanese word ‘jiyu’ which means free in English). I’ll be an adult and be able to do things at my pace without bothering other people and being thought of as naive.”

Model Moe Oshikiri, 31, says she can now call herself a true “wine expert,” after passing a sommelier’s test recently.

The surprisingly strict examination, recognized by the Japan Sommeliers Association, included a practical skills assessment plus an oral exam, Oshikiri said. She said she had been studying for two years - since passing the “Mercian Wine Ambassador” certification test.

“Talent” Yuko Ogura, 27, will get married in Hawaii on Oct 10, tabloid media reported Wednesday, quoting sources close to her. Ogura will make an official announcement at a TBS press conference on Oct 7.

According to an acquaintance, Ogura and her fiance—hair stylist and make-up artist Isao Kikuchi, 40—will register their marriage prior to the press conference. The wedding ceremony will be held in Oahu, with only family and close friends invited.

Ayaman Japan is a girls’ entertainment group performing mainly at party events around Roppongi and Nishi-Azabu. There are 100 members in Ayaman Japan, all of whom were scouted by the leader who is called “Ayaman Director.” But only three members, including “Ayaman Director,” do media appearances.

Ayaman Japan doesn’t belong to any talent agency. Rather, they are an amateur group that performs through connection with members. They don’t get paid.

Ayaman Japan started to become famous after appearing on the TV variety program “Tonneruzu no minasan no okage deshita” in 2010. They became famous with their first song “Poipoipoipopoipoipopii” (don’t ask us to translate the title).

After their first hit song, Ayaman Japan collaborated with the comedian Tanoshingo to release a new song “Dodosuko-poipoi” on June 15. Ayaman Japan also collaborated with comedian Shingo Fujimori from “Oriental Radio” to release a new song “Natsu age motion” on Aug 10.

Even though they are pretty, the girls tell dirty jokes and behave in a manner that Japanese women generally don’t do in public. Some people think they are fun, while others get offended by their actions.

“Talent” Aki Hoshino, 34, and her boyfriend, jockey Kosei Miura, 21, shocked the press with a sudden wedding announcement on Sunday. Media outlets first learned of the marriage when Miura announced it on his blog on Sunday night. The entry was titled “A message to my supporters” and explained that the couple registered their official marriage documents that same day.

The entry also detailed other aspects of the couple’s relationship, explaining that they met through a work acquaintance of Hoshino’s and have been dating seriously for about two and a half years.

“Even though Aki is busy with work, she supports me in what I do. She’s very important to me,” Miura wrote. He assured fans he will continue to race, and also pledged to care for Hoshino as best he could.
